Latest IStip survey results

We’ve added the latest findings from our regular annual surveys.

The Induction Coordinators and Tutors survey reports their views on IStip’s service in the last 12 months.

And the IStip NQT Survey reports on the responses from the 2019-20 cohort of Newly Qualified Teachers.

All previous survey findings are still available from their respective archive sections.

Also available are the retention statistics for the 2016-17 cohort of NQTs, showing where they are now three years after completing their induction programme.


Pro formas and guides for 2020-21

We have added the Tutor and NQT Guides to the site as PDFs now that there is a clearer idea of the nature and shape of the coming academic year in the wake of COVID-19.

We previously updated the site with all the new pro formas that teachers and coordinators/tutors will need for the upcoming academic year 2020-21.

Newly Qualified Teachers can find all the new pro formas that they need for their induction here.

And Coordinators/Tutors can access all the pro formas that they will require for their role in teacher induction here.


IStip complaints policy

IStip’s complaints policy has been reviewed and updated. Full details and a downloadable copy are now available on thw website.


Registration deadlines for 2020-21

We have added deadlines for registering an NQT in 2020-21:

  • Wednesday, September 9 2020 (for a 2020 autumn term start)
  • Friday, January 8 2021 (for a 2021 spring term start)
  • Friday, April 23 2021 (for a 2021 summer term start)

The registration fee will be £555 (£185 for one term; £370 for two terms). The fee MUST be paid by the school.

Proposed changes to Induction from September 2021

Proposals to make NQT induction a two-year process from September 2021 are currently being considered, which will include changes in the way that induction is structured and assessed.
