ECT training
ISTIP offers professional development to ECTs via regional training centres. A school will assign an ECT to a centre during the registration process.
There are two regional meetings for Year 1 ECTs (Autumn and Summer term) and one meeting for Year 2 ECTs (Spring term).
We also run webinars throughout the year and these can be booked via the links below.

Will Ord will lead this session focusing on developing effective dialogue in the classroom. Dialogue is once again coming to prominence as an important area of skill for students to develop and an area of formative and summative assessment. This session is suitable for ECTs across all Key Stages.

This is a two-part group coaching session. We will be focusing on your career path, looking at your personal goals, your values and next steps. The sessions are interactive using breakout rooms and discussion between participants so there will be no recording of this training available.

Devices in the classroom
This session is led by Lex Lang (Caterham School). We will be looking at how devices can be used in a positive way to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom. We will look at some practical ways to harness their usage and pitfalls to avoid.

Heading into year 2: timehacks and planning ahead
Led by Sarah Rich (Bolton School) this session is focused on practical advice and ideas to support everyone, especially Year 1 ECTs going into Year 2 with getting organised and finding ways to reduce workload and work towards better work/life balance.
