Induction tutor training

ISTIP offers in-person and online training for induction leads, tutors and mentors.

 

Our online induction tutor training will take you through the process of ECT induction, including the roles and responsibilities as well as the paperwork required.

 

We also offer in-person training, please see below for the courses currently available to book.

Online training

We will be running induction tutor training courses in June & September 2026.
These online courses will cover the induction process, roles and responsibilities as well as the Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (ITTECF).
The course is suitable for all those involved in the induction process (tutor, mentor or induction lead) and will take place via Zoom.
Our training is recorded, so if you are unable to attend, please register and you will be sent links to the recordings.
The cost for the training is £100.

Coaching Skills for Mentors

Learn what effective coaching really is—and isn’t—through practical demonstrations and hands‑on activities designed for ECT mentors and tutors. This 1‑day training, led by ICF‑accredited coaches Kim Wells and Amy Cooper, will equip you with tools to make an immediate impact in your school.

11th June 2026, 10am – 4pm, London

Supporting ECTs with Reflective Practice

Gain the skills to guide early career teachers with confidence, with practical tools to nurture inquiry, reflection, and professional growth in your school. This 1‑day training course will be led by Gareth Mills, author of The Enquiring Schools Project.

15th June 2026, 10am – 4pm, London
